This private reference site is not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that created the record.
Jail and Release Records
The Knox County offices directory lists the Sheriff contacts below. It does not publish separate jail hours, a jail street address, a records form, or a fee schedule. Call before visiting and ask where a written Sunshine request should be delivered.

Use the Sheriff for a physical release time, release code, transfer indicator, or booking photograph. The home page gives the complete named-person search and release-record request path.
Court Record Contacts
The Circuit Clerk holds court dockets and filed judgments, not the jail's operational release log. A case number helps the Sheriff and clerk reconcile the same event.
